During the complete welding operation, each workpiece is held continuously tensioned between the jaws of tension jaw pairs. The removal process takes place in two stages, i.e. with one part of the bead removed in the first, and the other part in the second. The tools used comprise a first group (8), which in its axial movement, goes free from the tension jaws, and a second group (13) the axial movement of which is limited to the axial space between the jaws. An activator (11) causes the two groups of tools to become effective at different times. |
