Macroscopic, spherical particles having a dia. 0.01-3.0 mm, a specific surface 0-10(3) m2/g, a specific pore vol. 0-6.0 ml/g and a bulk density 50-10(3) g/ltr are produced from known polymeric opt. crosslinked, sec. or tert. organosiloxaneamines NR2R', where each R is independently a gp. -R''-Si-(O-)3; R' is H, R, (cyclo)alkyl or benzyl; R'' is a divalent gp.; the free O valencies are opt. satisfied by metal atoms of bridging members. The particles are pref. produced by dissolving a sec. or tert. aminosilane NR1R2, where R1 has similar meanings as R and R2 has similar means to R', opt. together with a metal contg. crosslinking agent, in a solvent in presence of a hydrolysing amt. of water and adding water to the gelling, homogenised mixt. so that spherical particles are formed in the now 2-phase system. The particles are sepd., dried, tempered and graded. |
