PURPOSE: To ensure the restraint by a belt, by providing a lever incorporating at its one end a weight part, to a slider in a device for adjusting the height of a support for a belt shoulder part, and by connecting the lever to the support through the intermediary of a connecting rod so as to relatively raise the slider in an unengaged condition upon impact. CONSTITUTION: A slider 500 having a pawl part 301 which is locked by a manipulating part 502 is provided in an engaging hole 102 formed in a side face part 101 of a recessed cross-sectional shape guide rail 100 adapted to be attached to a center pillar part so as to allow the height of a shoulder part support 2 of a safety belt 4 adjustable. A lever 28 incorporating at its one end a weight part 20 is engaged underneath a manipulating part 502 of the slider 500, and the intermediate part thereof is connected to the belt support 2 through the intermediary of a connecting rod 26 and a pivot part 24. Upon impact in such a condition that the pawl part 301 is not engaged in the engaging hole 102, the slider 500 is relatively moved upward through the intermediary of a coupler 26 in response to a downward movement of the support 2 so as to prevent the belt from slacking, thereby is possible to ensure the restraint by the belt. |
