MOLTEN SALT ELECTROPLATING APPARATUS HAVING SUPERIOR DURABILITY

PURPOSE:To obtain a molten salt electroplating apparatus protected from corrosion by a molten salt such as molten chloride used as an electroplating bath and having superior durability by coating parts brought into contact with the plating bath in an electroplating apparatus with polyimide resin. CONSTITUTION:When molten anhydrous aluminum chloride is used as an electroplating bath 12 in the electroplating cell 14 of a molten salt electroplating apparatus to electroplate a steel strip 10 with Al, parts brought into contact with the hot bath 12, e.g., the housing 24 of each anode chamber 16 contg. Al pellets 22, a porous panel 26 and a screen member 28 covering the front of the chamber 16 and the inside of the cell 14 are coated with polyimide resin having a molecular structure contg. no ether bond. Since the polyimide resin has superior durability to the plating bath and also has superior electric insulating property, the plating apparatus is protected from corrosion by the plating bath and has improved durability.
