<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the magnetic recording medium face from flawing by providing a driving means and retracting the magnetic recording medium from a rotary drum when high speed retrieval of subcode information is performed. CONSTITUTION:Main information and the subcode information are read out by a rotary magnetic head 6 and a magnetoresistance element type fixed head 8 at the time of reproducing to be processed by signal processing circuits 12 and 13. Outputs of the circuits 12 and 13 are impressed on a subcode generator 15 to regenerate a subcode. When the high speed retrieval is further carried out, the magnetic recording medium is retracted from the rotary drum by the driving means and a system controller 1 via a servo system 17, and hence a magnetic tape 9 is brought into contact with the head 8 only. Now, the head 8 is positioned in a subcode area of the magnetic recording medium, and is exclusively used for reproducing. Thus, since the magnetic recording medium and the rotary drum are not brought into contact with each other, the tape 9 is prevented from flawing at the time of high speed retrieval, and the subcode information can be read out.</p> |
