The invention relates to an additional ventilation device intended to be used on roofs in order to ensure at one and the same time the ventilation of the area under the roof and that of the buildings themselves, this device being lightweight, of simple design, requiring no special maintenance and being able to be arranged on building roofs having different slopes. This device, consisting principally of a box arranged on an opening formed in the roof, the said box itself comprising closable openings intended for the passage of air, is characterised generally in that the said box 1' is of a prismatic shape whose base surface 1'', or generatrix, is defined by four sides: two lateral sides 2' which are substantially rectilinear, a lower side 2'' of concave shape, an upper side 2''' of convex shape, the two lateral sides 2' moving away from one another starting from the lower edge and towards the upper edge, the base surface thus having substantially the shape of a circular arch. Applications: ventilation of the roofs of agricultural and industrial buildings. <IMAGE>
