A plastic strip (1) has a metallic reinforcing layer (2) preferably embedded in its basic body. The lateral edge sections (2a, 2b) project freely from the basic body (1) in such a way that, when the tube is rolled, these sections (2a, 2b) overlap and can, if necessary, be welded or soldered together. The strip is used for the production of so-called roller laminated tubes which possess high strength and improved impermeability to gas. |
