<p>PURPOSE:To enable automatic and simultaneous carriage of a plurality of tools and to improve the working efficiency and unmanning ratio of a production device by a method wherein a tool is automatically carried from a tool rack to a tool holding table to hold it thereat, and the tool is fed to a tool machine. CONSTITUTION:A tool 10a indexed to a position on a tool magazine 12 by means of a change arm 13 of an automatic tool exchange device 2 is mounted on a main spindle 11 of a machining center 3, and a workpiece is machined. When the workpiece is machined by means of a different tool, the tool 10a in the magazine 12 is exchanged with a tool 10 attached to the main spindle by an automatic tool exchange device 2, and the workpiece is machined again with the exchanged different tool. When a tool 10b is fed from a tool rack 7 spaced away from the machining center 3, the needed tool 10b is indexed to the specified position on the rack 7. Through working of a change arm 16 of an automatic tool exchange device 15, the tool 10b of the rack 7 is mounted to a tool pot 17.</p> |
