The sealing element (1), which can be pre-mounted in the socket of a structural part (6), corresponds, in its functional nature, to the sealing element of a plug-in socket K, which, made of rigid compensation materal (S), is cast into the socket of a stoneware pipe. Said sealing element (1) is composed of a prefabricated, sleeve-like ring (2) and of a flexible sealing part (8) which is formed out of the material of the ring (2) itself or is fastened captively on the ring (2). By virtue of the sealing element (1), structural parts (6) may now also be equipped in a functionally reliable manner with plug-in-socket (K) connections, on which, as a result of their type of production, e.g. in the case of cast iron, U-PVC, etc., it was not possible, up till now, to pre-mount annular bodies, anchored fixedly in the wall of the opening of prefabricated compound units, without error instead of sealing elements made of rigid compensation material (S). <IMAGE>
