The invention relates to a vehicle seat having a seat-belt which runs through an upper deflection fitting on the backrest of the seat. In order better to be able to control the resultant forces on the backrest, it is proposed to arrange the swivelling axis of the backrest offset to the front in the direction of the seat surface and to couple the seat-belt to the rear side of the seat under the backrest, this coupling fitting being offset to the rear in the direction of the rear side of the seat. <IMAGE>
