DUSTING APPARATUS

A dusting apparatus for applying a very thin powder coating on printed products has a dosing device which produces a free-falling powder stream (144). The fall section can be moved out of the working line of a measurement gate (36, 38) by lateral displacement of a hose (32) from which the powder stream (144) issues. The output signal of the measurement gate is used to adjust the amplitude of oscillation of a dosing plate of the dosing device. The output signal of the measurement gate (36, 38) for the powder stream (144) deflected out of the latter is used to compensate errors of measurement due to impurities and ageing.
