<p>A leaf spring seal to effect sealing contact between a damper blade member and a frame member consists of a set of leaf springs (16, 17, 18) having their inner portions clamped together between a bar (22) and the inner portion of a ledge (23). Either the ledge or the bar may be a part of whichever member is to carry the seal, the other member providing the seat (24). The outer portion of the ledge (23) and outer portions of the spring leaves (16, 17, 18) are all inclined in the same direction, the leaves inclined to the same extent relative to their inner portions. The leaves decrease in width with the outer portion of maximum width adapted for sealing contact with the seat (24) when the seal (15) and seat (24) are engaged. The outer portion of the ledge engages one of the leaves to maintain the leaf spring set tensioned at least until seated.</p> |
