<p>A cutting device is described for cutting sections of a moving strip (12) of material, especially for cutting coating sheets (38) from a strip of coating paper in a filter-mounting machine used in the tobacco-processing industry. This cutting device includes a rotating cutting drum (17), above the circumference of which the strip of material is guided, while resting against it, in a predetermined angular section, and a rotating cutter drum (18), which has at least one cutter (41) which extends transversely to the direction of rotation and the cutting edge (42) of which interacts with the cutting drum for cutting to take place. On the circumferential surface of the cutting drum (17) there are provided grooves (36) which essentially extend parallel to the axis and each have one groove flank (37) which act as a cutting edge. The cutting edges (42) engage in the grooves of the cutting drum (17), while coming to rest against the groove flanks (37) which act as cutting edges, for cutting to take place. The cutting edges of the cutters (41) are inclined radially with respect to the cutter drum axis and are deflected in a straight line in the circumferential direction with respect to the cutter drum axis. <IMAGE></p> |
