In a device for the selective switching of the connection between a data transmission channel, for example an antenna connection or a cable connection, and a plurality of playback devices, the installation of a multiplicity of switchable branches from the data transmission channel to the playback devices is simplified in that, at the location of the branches from the data transmission channel, there are switches which can be switched over by means of electrical signals or reversible frequency branches or filters, and a number of switching signal leads, which corresponds to the number of the branches, is led out from a control centre on a control path connecting all the branch points with each other. Each respective switching signal lead can be loaded with a switching signal by means of an associated switching device in the control centre, which switching signal reaches the associated switchable switch or the associated reversible frequency branch or the switchable filter via the switching signal lead concerned and a tapping on the latter.
