A device for inverted hidden-arc welding comprises a bunker (1) with a flux (2), inside which is located a bowl (4) provided with means for feeding and pressing the flux and facing the article (3) to be welded by its upper open part, the rear wall of the bowl, seen in the direction of welding, consists of a movable plate (27) fixed to an axle (28) perpendicular to its surface. In the vicinity of the movable plate (27) in the bowl (4) is mounted a welding nozzle (13) for feeding a consumable electrode (14), whereas a forming arrangement (16) is mounted above the upper level of the open part of the bowl (4), on a suspension element fixed to an axle (17), and with the possibility of interaction with the movable plate (27) and swinging in its longitudinal and transverse planes, the bunker (1) being suspended on the axle (17) of attachment of the forming arrangement (16). The axle (28) of the movable plate (27) is mounted on a mechanism for pressing the upper end-face (29) of said movable plate (27) against the front edge of the lower surface of the forming arrangement (16). Such a design of the device prevents accumulation and jamming of the flux (2) in the bowl (4) under the forming arrangement (16) during the welding process, provides for optimal conditions for swinging the forming device and ensures automatic maintaining of the desired pressures of the flux (2) at different points along the weld joint. The invention may be used to weld longitudinal and turning annular joints.
