PURPOSE: To separate a retightening mechanism from an automatic roll-up device, and facilitate its fitting to an automobile by inserting a safety belt in a radial slit formed at a retightening shaft, and driving the retightening shaft through a pulling member roller. CONSTITUTION: A retightening shaft 102 is rotatably supported at a retaining member 104 through a support pin 103. A safety belt 5 is inserted in a radial slit 105 formed at the retightening shaft 102. A pulling member roller 107 of bobbin shape is fixed at the retightening shaft 102, to which a cylinder piston type drive device 91 is jointed through a rope-shaped pulling member 16. By the operation of the drive device 91, the pulling member 16 is pulled to rotate the retightening shaft 102, so that the safety belt 5 is rolled up. One end part of the retightening shaft 102 is formed into a ratchet tooth ring 108, and by engaging it with a ratchet claw 109, the retightening shaft 102 is inhibited from making a reverse rotation. |
