<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of oxidant and obtain a light engine having excellent efficiency of oxidation and liquefaction by a method wherein oxygen in the atmosphere is used effectively as an oxidant, with its simultaneous liquefaction, at least in a flight in the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Liquefied hydrogen fuel is pressurized by a fuel pump 3, transformed into a cooling medium by an air codenser 5 and an air precooler 7, and after heat exchange, supplied to the combustor 19 of a rocket engine, through a piping 8. On the other hand, a gaseous air entering through an air duct 14, is cooled by an air precooler 7, and first atomized content and carbon dioxide in the air are removed by a defrostor 20, in order to protect the air condenser 5 from being lowered in its heat transfer capacity. next, air is liquefied by the air condenser 5, pressurized by an oxygen pressurizing pump 17 and supplied to the combustor 19 of the rocket engine. Consequently, thrust is can be obtained by burning the liquefied hydrogen and the liquefied air in the combustor 19.</p> |
