<p>PURPOSE:To form a picture forming device in small size further preventing a double feed of paper and its jam by providing a control means which controls the device receiving outputs of a mode instructing means and a paper detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When a manual insertion paper feed mode is selected by a mode selector switch 11 further when cassette paper is detected for its presence by a detecting switch 10, a cassette side paper feed roller 9 is reversely rotated by the predetermined turns. In this way, the cassette paper, carried out to a paper feed roller 3 of a copying machine main unit 4, is retracted till an end part of the paper is positioned at least in the upstream side of a joint point B, being controlled so as to be prevented from colliding against bypass paper from a paper feed bypass 7. After a manual bypass paper feed is finished, when a cassette paper feed mode is selected, in order to feed the cassette paper in its position to a position of the main unit side paper feed roller 3 from the retracted position, the cassette side paper feed roller 9 is normally rotated by the predetermined turns. A CPU12, while it exchanges a process with a memory 13,outputs an instruction controlling a paper feed motor 14 being based on outputs from the switches 10, 11.</p> |
