[Also in Divisions E1 and F2] A double-walled paper bag made from inner and outer paper tubes has the inner tube externally coated with a catalyst which will react with a mixture of plastics, accelerating agent and filler inside the inner tube, when the bag is destroyed, to cause the mixture to set. Each end of the bag is formed by folding the end of the tube over, folding it back, round to the other side of the bag, and then securing it with a simple clip. Bags thus constructed and filled are used to implant rods &c. into holes drilled in rocks by part-filling the holes with the bags, and then inserting a rod in each hole and turning it to destroy the bags. The mixture sets and secures the rod. |
