PURPOSE:To obtain the title one-pack composition which can give a coating film excellent in weathering resistance, flexibility and staining resistance, by using a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing an acrylic monomer with a specified polymerizable peroxide at a temperature <= the decomposition temperature of the peroxide and grafting an acrylic monomer onto the copolymer at a temperature >= said decomposition temperature. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic monomer (e.g., butyl acrylate) is copolymerized with a polymerizable peroxide of any one of formulas I-III [wherein n is 1 or 2, R1 is H or a 1-2C alkyl, R2 is a 1-9 C alkyl or a (substituted) phenyl, R3 is H or R4, R4-5 are each a 1-4 C alkyl, and R6 is a 1-12 C akyl or a 3-12 C cycloalkyl] at a temperature <= the decomposition temperature of the peroxide to obtain a copolymer of a glass transition temperature of, desirably, -50-0 deg.C, and an acrylic monomer which is the same as or different from the above is grafted onto the copolymer to obtain a graft copolymer of a glass transition temperature of, desirably, -5-15 deg.C. This copolymer is used to prepare the title composition. |
