A process and a device for the transmission of power from a diesel engine, particularly a supercharged diesel engine 7, to an actuation device 3 with an actuation propeller mechanism 4 on the surface, a turbine clutch 10 being connected between the diesel engine 7 and the actuating device, the diesel engine being permitted to actuate the pump element of the turbine clutch 10, the turbine element of the turbine clutch 10 being connected to the input shaft 6 of the actuating device 3 and the pump and the turbine elements being arranged in such a manner that they enable the diesel engine 7 to increase its speed to one which is such that the supercharging assembly of the diesel engine 7 is connected before the occurrence of any substantial reaction resistance on the part of the water, which is influenced by the propeller mechanism 4, after which the pump and the turbine elements 15, 17 will act essentially as a peak power transmission device in such a manner that the propeller will be influenced by the impulse of the diesel engine, which is increased owing to the influence of the supercharging assembly. The invention also relates to the association of a turbine clutch between the diesel engine 7 and the actuating device 3 in the above-described device with an actuating propeller mechanism on the surface of the water 4. <IMAGE> |
