Humidifier for an air-conditioning system

The humidifier comprises, in the duct 1 for circulating hot air to be humidified, an ultrasound water atomiser 2 whose inlet receives liquid water and whose outlet emits particles of water at the top of a diverging cone 20 extending as far as the wall of the duct. The lateral surface of the cone 20 is pierced with holes 21 through which the hot air passes to encounter the particles of water and entrain them by vaporising them. Electric heating resistors may be incorporated into the lateral wall of the cone 20. A water droplet evaporator or trap 23 may be provided across the duct downstream of the cone 20. The water droplet trap 23 may be formed of a plurality of small longitudinal pipes forming a honeycomb structure. <IMAGE>
