A side and hopper hung window is fitted with a handle 2, rotatable through 180‹, which operates by means of connecting rods 3, 6 and 8 a latch 4, a horizontal hinge pin 9 and vertical hinge pins 10 and 11. On rotating the handle 2 anticlockwise, firstly through an angle slightly less than 90 degress the latch 4 is released. secondly through a small angle to just over 90‹ there is no appreciable change and finally through a further angle equal to the first to a total of 180‹ the horizontal pin 9 is engaged and the vertical hinge pins 10 and 11 disengaged. |
