PURPOSE:To extend the function of on-line key by having the input of the on-line key during execution of a specified printing function including a holding state to complete the function and at the same time carrying out the reception/ print of data in a normal on-line state. CONSTITUTION:The circuit system of a recording device is connected to an arithmetic processing part 11 via a ROM 14, a character generator CG 15, a RAM 16, an input/output port 17, a timer 18, etc., through an address bus 12 and a data bus 13 and also connected to a head control 19 and a head 6 respectively. At the same time, a carriage motor 8, various sensors 25, etc., are connected to the port 17. The data are transferred and received to a host 27 for recording via an input/output port 26 and then recorded. In such a case, the recording device which carries out a specified print function like a test print, etc., completes this function with input of an on-line key carried out during execution of the specified function including a holding state. Then the recording device performs the reception/printing of data in a normal on-line state. |
