Processes and devices making it possible to produce gas mixtures. The process and the device are characterised essentially in that the device comprises pressurised sources 3, 4 respectively of the gases to be mixed, each source comprising an exit conduit, at least one controllable valve 21-24 being arranged in each exit conduit, and means 40 for controlling the timing of the valve opening and delivering unit volumes of each gas, which are then conveyed alternately into a single conduit 20 situated at the exit of the exit conduits. Application especially to the production of apparatus of the "respirator" type or gas mixers for use of the mixture obtained very rapidly after its production. <IMAGE>
