PURPOSE:To discriminate the kind of a recording region by selectively generating the first drive signal capable of obtaining a recording result having a flat recording surface corresponding to a recording signal and the second drive signal capable of obtaining a recording result having a non-flat recording surface. CONSTITUTION:A drive signal generation part 1 selectively outputs the first drive signal capable of obtaining a recording result A wherein the surface of the ink 4 recorded on recording paper 5 is flat and the second drive signal capable of obtaining a recording result B wherein the recording surface of the ink is not flat to a drive circuit 2 corresponding to a recording signal and different heat energies are generated by a thermal head 3. That is, the recording surface of the ink 4 flat like the result A is formed in such a state that heat energy is relatively small and the recording surface not flat like the result B is obtained in such a state that the heat energy is relatively large. By this method, the kind of the recording region of a document by thermal recording can be discriminated relatively easily. |
