PURPOSE: To keep a contact seal state with respect to the outer sealing face of a rotating member by providing a series of leaf spring members arranged annularly while overlapping partially each other to cover the annular opening between a pair of members, and a plurality of flexible coated members. CONSTITUTION: At a kiln supply port, a seal member 39 is fixed removably to the wall 37 of a fixing member and extends outward until coming into contact with the end plate 24 of a rotary shell 16 thus sealing an annular opening 38. At a combustion housing 40, the seal member 39 is fixed removably to the bracket 51 on the front wall 46 of the fixing member and extends until coming into contact with the outer surface of the rotary shell 16 thus sealing an annular opening 49. The seal member 39 is made of a resilient material, e.g. a thin spring steel plate, and arranged annularly at a slightly overlapping interval. Annular space between the rotary shell and a fixed structure is thereby sealed and leakage of gaseous fluid can be prevented.
