PURPOSE:To enhance the adsorption efficiency of iodine on an anion exchange resin by attaching a porous plate for increasing the speed of a rising flow to the intermediate part of a fluidized bed type iodine adsorbing tower using the exchange resin to separate the tower into upper and lower beds. CONSTITUTION:A liq. contg. free iodine is introduced into a cylindrical or square- shaped adsorbing tower from the bottom inlet 1 and passed through a distributor 2 to form a rising flow. In the lower bed part 3 of the tower provided with a number of arranged doglegged plates 4, the flow contacts countercurrently with an anion exchange resin adsorbing iodine in a degree and flowing down from the upper bed part 6 of the tower in a fluidized state to allow iodine to be adsorbed. The rising flow passes through a porous plate 5 and enters the upper bed part 6 at an increased speed. In the part 6 the flow contacts countercurrently with a regenerated anion exchange resin supplied from a supply inlet 9 while preventing falling from the plate 5 to allow the remaining iodine to be adsorbed, and the flow is discharged from a discharge outlet 8. The anion exchange resin flows down from the upper bed part 6 to the lower bed part 3 while intermittently reducing the speed of the rising flow. Part of the resin is taken out of a discharge outlet 10 and regenerated. At the same time, the iodine is recovered. |
