<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of deformation by heat or force or deformation with age during transportation by using a low-temp. thermoplastic resin which has a specific softening point and is solid at a room temp. CONSTITUTION:The low-temp. thermoplastic resin to be used in the dental mushbite method is the resin which softens at the temp. of hot water or warm water, i.e., 40-100 deg.C and solidifies at a room temp. and is no longer deformed at room temp. A lactone resin which is one of the low-temp. thermoplastic resins is preferably of about 10,000-100,000mol.wt. in order to be used for the dental mushbite method. The resin is liquid or waxy at ordinary temp. and is, therefore, not suitable for the purpose of use if the mol.wt. is <10,000. Conversely, the resin having >=100,000mol.wt. has a high viscosity at the time of melting and the exact transfer of the mold of the rugged shape for the detailed part of the surface of the tooth bed is difficult with such resin. The lactone resins may also be used by blending plural kinds of different grades. The characteristics of the resin formed by blending plural kinds of the different grades have the better bending strength, etc., even if the softening temp. thereof is the same as the softening temp. of the resin of the single grade.</p> |
