METHOD OF MEASURING LIPASE ACTIVITY

PURPOSE:To measure the lipase activity in a specimen by mixing the specimen contg. lipase with a triglyceride emulsion and determining the fatty acid liberated into the liquid mixture. CONSTITUTION:The specimen contg. lipase is mixed with the triglyceride emulsion and the liberated fatty acid formed by the hydrolysis effected by the lipase in this liquid mixture is measured. The free fatty acid is measured by using an enzyme electrode using, for example, an enzyme reaction. Namely, acyl Co synthetase and acrl CoA oxitase are acted on the free fatty acid formed by the hydrolysis effected by the lipase. The quantity of the oxygen consumed at this time is measured, by which the lipase activity is measured.
