The invention relates to a process for the production of a raw material for cosmetic, pharmaceutical and detergent substances, and as additive to foodstuffs, based on whey or on a product forming whey. In order to be able to stabilise and render storable whey or a product forming whey in a relatively short time at normal room temperature and without great capital expenditure, and thus to produce a raw material for cosmetic, pharmaceutical and detergent substances and as additive to foodstuffs, 100 parts by weight of whey are mixed with about 5-30 parts by weight of a mineral salt mixture and/or about 0.5-10 parts by weight of a monocarboxylic acid.
