PURPOSE:To render the idling speed of an engine stable and to lower the specific fuel consumption of the engine, by providing an oxygen enriching means for controlling the density of oxygen in the intake air supplied to the engine in response to fluctuation in the idling speed of the engine. CONSTITUTION:Output signals of an engine-speed detector 24, a load detector 25 and an oxygen-density detector 26 are furnished to a control circuit 8. During low-load operation of an engine 1, an oxygen-density control means 27 is operated to close a valve 12, to open an oxygen-density control valve 18, and to close a relief valve 22. Resultantly, only oxygen-enriched air from an oxygenenriched air supply passage 13 is supplied to the engine 1. By employing such an arrangement, it is enabled to compensate fluctuation of the idling speed of the engine in a stable manner and to lower the specific fuel consumption of the engine. |
