PURPOSE:To make a coating plate effectively function even when film forming is not easy and also carry out smooth coating without thick coating by providing a revolvable coating plate of crooked shape and also providing a support for revolution in the vicinity of lower section of a backup roller. CONSTITUTION:A revolving coating plate 8 is provided and coating is carried out by colliding coating liquid 3 fallen freely in the thin film shape from a hopper 1 with a web 6 continuously running surrounding a backup roller 7. The coating plate 8 is in the shape of crooked or folded and curved, and the support of said revolution is provided in the vicinity of lower section of the backup roller 7. As a result, even if film forming is not easy, the coating plate is made to effectively function to carry out smooth coating without thick coating.
