A dimensionally stable fuel container 1 having a filling aperture 3 which can be sealed off by a tank cap 2 and an aeration and deaeration aperture 5 contains an inner container 8 which is made of an elastic material and the interior of which is inherently completely closed off and is only connected to the filling aperture 3 and an outflow pipe 4. As the interior of the inner container 8 is not connected to the atmosphere, no fuel vapours can emerge into the atmosphere. It is made possible for the inner container 8 to change its volume during filling and evacuation by the fact that the space 12 between the inner container 8 and the wall of the liquid container 1 is connected to the atmosphere via the aeration and deaeration aperture 5. <IMAGE>
