PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of respective optical elements and to increase the focus detecting sensitivity by making an incident angle for the beam splitter incident surface of a light flux from an objective lens smaller than the emitting angle for the a beam splitter emitting surface. CONSTITUTION:First and second 2-divided light detectors 26 and 27, on which a light flux divided to the different directions by a beam splitter 23 is respectively made incident, are provided. An incident boundary surface G of the beam splitter 23, when an objective lens 24 is in the focus condition, is made approximately orthogonal (incident angle 0 deg.) for the incident light flux, an emitting light flux is emitted (emitting angle >> 0 deg.) more slantingly than an emitting boundary surface I of the beam splitter 23, and the incident angle is made smaller than the emitting angle. Thus, the optical pickup, in which the adjustment of respective optical elements is facilitated, a focus detecting sensitivity is high, miniaturization is executed, the lightweight is executed, the shortening of an access time is facilitaged and the cost is inexpensive, can be obtained. |
