PURPOSE:To obtain excellent washing effect, by removing the paint adhered to a spray head by automatically washing said spray head with a thinner. CONSTITUTION:Spray nozzles 11a, 11b are respectively attached to the leading ends of thinner emitting pipes 10a, 10b used in color replacement washing and, at the time of color replacement washing, the shroud 7 arranged behind a spray head 2 during the previous painting is pushed forwardly by the operation of a cylinder to be brought to a desired position. A thinner is emitted from the spray nozzles 11a, 11b respectively attached to the thinner emitting pipes 10a, 10b toward the leading end part A of the head 2 and the surface of the outer peripheral part thereof through said thinner emitting pipes 10a, 10b in a fanwise mist form.
