<p>A handbrake assembly for a vehicle, comprising an attachment means (6) for a brake cable (7), a lever (1) for applying tension to the cable via the attachment means, and a ratchet member (18), the latter comprising a body (19, 20) formed as a pressing and a sintered metal alloy toothed insert (23) fixed thereto. In this arrangement, sharp teeth can be provided on the ratchet member, without the need for a machining operation following the pressing of the body thereof.</p> |
