PURPOSE:To enhance the excitation efficiency and to eliminate the damage of an excitation light source due to reabsorption of an excitation beam by a method wherein a shape of a reflecting surface of a reflector is selected so that the excitation beam radiated from the excitation light source is not absorbed again by other excitation light sources or the original excitation light source and is incident repeatedly on a laser medium. CONSTITUTION:The following are installed at a reflector 60 which reflects excitation beams from excitation light sources 20, 30, 40, 50 by using a reflecting surface and with which the excitation beams are incident on a solid-state laser medium: first one or two or more reflecting parts 60A-60D which convert the excitation beams from the excitation light sources 20, 30, 40, 50 into beams advancing toward a direction where the laser medium is arranged; second reflecting parts 60I, 60J, 60P, 60Q with which the excitation beams which have advanced toward the laser medium 10 from the first reflecting parts 60A-60D and have been transmitted through the laser medium 10 are reflected to directions different from directions advancing toward the first reflecting parts 60A-60D and are incident again on the laser medium 10. In addition, e.g., fourth reflecting parts 60G, 60H, 60M, 60N and the like used to reduce an amount of the excitation beams reflected by said second reflecting parts and the like advancing toward the first reflecting parts 60A-60D are installed. |
