PURPOSE:To increase copying speed and to improve maintainability and operability at the time of jammed paper processing by displacing both the supporting body of a transferring belt reciprocatingly carrying transfer material in order to form a color image and the transfer belt, respectively. CONSTITUTION:When the eccentric backup roller 24 is turned, only the transfer belt 10 is slightly displaced, a belt 1 moves toward or away from a photosensitive belt 8, and images of different colors are repeatedly superimposed and transferred to the transfer material reciprocatingly carried by the belt 10. Unnecessary motion accompanied by the reciprocating action of the transferring belt is eliminated by this slight displacement, and the belt is displaced with a small driving power, thereby increasing the copying speed. On the other hand, through the switching member 23 and supporting member 10a of an eccentric circle, the supporting frame 10 of the belt 10 is rocked centering around a shaft supporting point 10b and the belt 1 is significantly separated from the belt 8. Maintainability and operability at the time of processing jammed paper are thus improved. |
