PURPOSE:To secure a sufficient fixing performance by providing a detecting means for detecting a surface temperature of a heat roller and a pressure roller, and a controller for controlling an operating speed of the heat roller and the pressure roller, respectively in accordance with ON/OFF of each heating element. CONSTITUTION:A heat roller 30 and a pressure roller 31 are provided with heating elements 301, 311 and detecting means 41, 42 for detecting a surface temperature, respectively, and when the surface temperature of the heat roller 30 has become higher than the first set temperature, heating of the first heating element 301 is stopped, and when the surface temperature of the heat roller 30 has become lower than the second set temperature, heating of the first heating element 301 is executed. Also, when the surface temperature of the pressure roller 31 has become higher than the third set temperature, heating of the second heating element 311 is stopped, and when said surface temperature has become lower than the fourth set temperature, heating of the second heating element 311 is executed. In this state, by following up driving and a stop of each heating element 301, 311, a rotation speed of the heat roller 30 and the pressure roller 31 is controlled. In such a way, the surface temperature of the pressure roller 31 can be raised without causing the deterioration of the pressure roller 31, and also, a sufficient fixing performance can be secured. |
