PURPOSE:To enhance initial capacity and the cycle lifetime characteristic by adding carbon or graphite fibers having conductivity in 6-10wt.%. CONSTITUTION:A lead acid battery according to existing invention is equipped with an electrode plate in which electroconductive carbon or graphite fibers having a tensile strength over 300kg/mm<2> is added in 6-10wt.% to the active substance. These carbon or graphite fibers present excellent strength even after repeated charging and discharging. That is, the effect of conductivity is not sufficiently distinctive until the amount of addition attains 5wt.%, and exceeding 10% sinks the capacity due to decrease in the absolute amount of active substance as charging/discharging reaction substance. Thereby the initial capacity and the cycle lifetime characteristic are enhanced. |
