COMPOSITE ELECTRONIC COMPONENT

PURPOSE:To form a composite electronic component having a surge absorbing function and a noise removing function having a simple constitution by forming a varistor function layer and a high frequency filter in a laminated pattern in a main body made of ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A main body 12 of a composite electronic component 10 is formed by laminating a varistor layer 14, a magnetic body layer 16 and a dielectric layer 18. The magnetic body layer 16 and the dierectoric layer 18 function as a noise removing function layer. A plurality of through holes 20 which are penetrated in the laminating direction are formed in the main body 12. Grounding electrodes 22 are formed on the entire surfaces of the insides of the varistor layer 14 and the dielectric layer 18 other than the parts of the through holes 20. Connecting electrodes 24 are formed around the through holes 20 on one main surface 12a and on another main surface 12b of the main body 12. The connecting electrodes 24 are insulated from the grounding electrodes 22. In this way, both a surge absorbing function and the noise removing function can be simply obtained by inserting terminals into the through holes of the main body.
