PURPOSE:To prevent defective contact between provisional external electrodes and internal electrodes and to prevent defective plating or peel-off of a deposited metal by etching ceramics on the end faces of a layer-built body so that end faces of the internal electrodes are projected out from the end faces of the layer-built body, providing the provisional external electrodes and plating the other end faces of the internal electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A layer-built body is produced by stacking piezoelectric ceramics 1, 2 and internal electrodes, 3, 4 altenately. The ceramics 1, 2 on the end faces of the layer-built body are previously etched so that the end faces of the internal electrodes 3, 4 are projected out from the end faces of the layer-built body. Provisional external electrodes 13, 14 are formed on the opposite faces of the layer-built body where the internal electrodes 3, 4 are projected out altenately. Using these preliminary external electrodes 13 and 14, a metal 5 is deposited linearly on the other projected end faces of the internal electrodes 3, 4 by plating. In this manner, defective contact between the internal electrodes and the preliminary external electrodes can be prevented and the deposited metal can be adhered rigidly on the projected end faces to prevent peeloff of the metal effectively. |
