摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify constitution, by arranging the first ink droplet detection electrodes each having the width corresponding to the deflection width of an ink droplet in a main scanning direction at every nozzles and arranging the second ink droplet detection electrode for detecting the ink droplet passing between the first electrodes on the rear side of the first electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Ink droplet detection electrodes 11 each having the width corre sponding to the deflection width (a) of an ink droplet D in a main scanning direction A are provided at the position opposed to the position of recording paper while an ink droplet detection electrode 12 is provided on the rear side of the ink droplet detection electrodes 11 and, when the ink droplet D collides with both ink droplet detection electrodes 11, 12, the flight position of the ink droplet D in the main scanning direction A is detected on the basis of the differ ence between the currents flowing to both electrodes 11, 12. By this method, the flight position of the ink droplet D injected from each of the nozzles 4, 4... in the main scanning direction A can be detected by simple constitution and an apparatus inexpensive and easy to mount can be obtained.
