[Also in Division F4] Gas is stored in a flexible hose, e.g. of reinforced nylon, having sealing means at each end, one sealing means, e.g. a frangible disc (Fig. 1, not shown), acting to release pressure when the pressure in the hose exceeds a certain amount, and the other sealing means (Fig. 2, not shown), being operable to release the gas into means to receive the gas. The first seal comprises a frangible disc mounted in a housing between the flange of a hose connector and a hollow screw cap, which is vented to allow release of pressure when the disc bursts. The second seal also comprises a frangible disc in a mounting screwing into the hose connector, the latter being externally threaded so that it can be screwed into a socket, e.g. of an inflatable life raft, which automatically pierces the disc. |
