1,081,288. Bearings. HUNTER DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL Ltd. Nov. 16, 1964 Nov. 14, 1963], No. 46663/64. Heading F2A. A roller 13. Fig. 1, of a Venetian blind is supported in a part-circular aperture of a pedestal 1 which is made of resilient material. The aperture extends over an arc of a circle greater than 180 degrees and the pedestal has a base 2 with an opening 6 which ladder-cords 7, 8 pass therethrough. The roller 13 has slots 19 through which the cords 7, 8 are passed and are then knotted and has a square-sectioned hole 17 therein which receives a square-sectioned tilt-rod 18 therein. The roller 13 may have a reduced portion 14 which serves as the journal and have a flange 16; flanges 22, 23, Fig. 3; or may have one flange which is received in a recess 27, Fig. 5, of a pedestal 25. On assembly, the roller 13 is forced into position between legs 10, 11, Fig. 2, this being facilitated by the resiliency of the material of the pedestal and by the relieved portions 35, 36 thereof. In a modification, the pedestal has uprights 30, 31, Fig. 7, which are recessed at 32, 32 to radially and axially support a roller 33. The uprights 30, 31 are chamfered at 34 to facilitate the assembly of the roller 33 therein. |
