PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp and high-density recording image and to enhance shelf stability after recording, by incorporating microcapsules containing a dye-dissolving substance in an image receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:In an image-receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording formed by providing an image-receiving layer for receiving a transfer image from a dye transfer sheet on a substrate, the image-receiving layer incorporates microcapsules containing a dye-dissolving substance. The microcapsule contains an oily substance and a hot melt substance, which dissolve a sublimating dye, as core substances and has a wall film capable of transmitting the dye under heat. Thus, the sublimating dye transferred from the coloring material transfer sheet at the time of thermal recording is transmitted through the capsule wall film and dissolved by the core substances, thereafter dyeing the core substances ; in this manner, a recording image remarkably superior in shelf stability can be obtained. |
