PURPOSE:To read respective IDs by one kind of ID reader by providing the ID reader of the kind having the function to read specimen IDs and rack IDs. CONSTITUTION:Sample vessels 7 are housed in sample racks 6 provided with bar code labels 9 indicating the rack IDs and are set in this state to a turn table 5. The sample racks are intermittently moved at specified cycles by which the sample racks are moved forward successively by one pitch each. The sample rack 6 arriving at the ID reader 13 during such moving action is irradiated with the light from the 1st aperture 15a of the reader 13 to the bar code label thereof and the ID information is read by an image sensor 20. This sample rack 6 is temporarily taken out in the outer direction of the table 6 in the position to which the sample rack is first moved. The bar code label of the vessel 7 is irradiated with the light from the 2nd aperture 15b of the reader 13 and the ID information on the sample vessel is read from the bar codes by the image sensor 20. |
