At this time, the ON-signal is applied to either one of the scanning electrodes 481 to 488 and an OFF-signal is applied to the remaining scanning electrodes and, for example, the OFF-signal is applied to the remaining scanning electrodes 482-488 during a period when the ON-signal is applied to the scanning electrode 481.
