<p>PURPOSE:To detect a light emission failure of a light emitting element by detecting the emitted light quantity of the light emitting element by a photodetecting element for receiving an emitted light which has formed on image on a photosensitive drum and has been reflected. CONSTITUTION:An emitted light from a light emitting element is made incident on an image forming element 3, while broadening, reduced onto a photosensitive drum 2, and the emitted light on the photosensitive drum 2 travels in the direction of a reflection angle, while broadening, and made incident on a photodetecting element 4. Also, the photodetecting element is constituted of one piece of photodiode. In such a way, all light emitting element dots can be checked without omission, and a light emission failure of the light emitting element can be confirmed exactly without forming a complicated circuit constitution.</p> |
